Podcast #4 - Final Video Project Trailer

So this is my final podcast besides my final video project. It is sort of a trailer mixed in with It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I enjoyed this last podcast and editing and filming these things is getting easier and easier. If you have any constructive criticisms fire away. Otherwise enjoy Podcast #4.

Scott, I enjoyed the podcast, it was very creative in terms a variety of shooting techniques you used, in car, outside, walking in the hall, sitting at the desk, it kept the viewer interested all the time.
in terms of the content, I think you really outlined what any of us who wants to be in design business - has to know about - be prepared to work across the platforms, really know the software. It was very good!

Scott, great job on the final podcast and I'm looking forward to your final video. The topic sounds very interesting and will be a good view of not only the design aspect but the customer service areas of advertising. At my work we get to deal with lovely clients at times so the video will definitely be helpful to students who are about to enter into adv. without knowing how to deal with clients. Overall the podcast was great, the shooting techniques were excellent although it was hard to hear you speaking a few times when you were facing away from the camera. Other than that it was a great podcast.

I like the trailer approach to this podcast; clever work. Your music is good. I especially like that you changed venues using both indoor and outdoor shots, (car, office, computer, and walking down the hall). This added interest and made it seem more realistic. The phone call from a client is a plus; I liked it! I look forward to seeing your final video.

Nice job, Scott. I really enjoyed the variety you had in this podcast. I am also looking forward to seeing your final video project. You did a great job at giving us an idea of what all we will see in it. I think the phone call was a great addition and it also helped add to some of the things you are going to cover in your final video. While I do not do advertising, I am constantly dealing with clients who are never happy with the “end result” and what something changed.
The audio was a problem in some parts. Especially when you are in the car driving around you can hear the engine/exhaust too much; also when you are outside the wind noise was a little strong. I'm not sure if you are using a lapel mic, but that might help alleviate some of the problems with your audio, especially when you are not looking at the camera. Another thing that might help are including some slides. Rather than seeing you read off your script it might be nice to have a slide or two and you do a voice over. Also, this will add even more variety to your podcast.
Overall, this was a great one though and I think it was nice to mix things up a little regarding locations. I can't wait to see the final video.

Nice job on podcast #4. I really enjoyed all the different "scenes" that you taped... it made the podcast much more interesting and kept the pace up. Also, the phone interuption was a nice example:) As far as the conten you did a great job of explaining what your actual project will be able. I'm sure that it will be useful for future students and others entering an advertising career.
Nice job!

Scott--

I liked your trailer concept. It was definitely a different take on the assignment. I also liked the different shots and scenes you used. The variety was refreshing. The phone call from the client added some realism to the podcast and illustrated the point you made as well. I think your final project is relevant and practical. Nice job on your last podcast!

Scott,
Nice job on the podcast, I enjoyed the trailer focus you gave it. The different scenes were a nice touch- I know from experience filming outside can be difficult and the volume was low, but you didn't have a lot of background noise.

I think your final podcast sounds like it will be a hit. You seemed very comfortable discussing the information, especially while driving, answering questions from a boss and walking around campus.

Good luck with your final project!

Scott,

I really enjoyed your trail. Your podcast showed some different approaches of video shots to address your ideas; you just show how to produce video in a creative way! I like the part that you pick up the phone and show the issues with clients. You look like a good actor on this podcast.

The topic seems interesting and I'd like to watch your final video project. You did great job!!! And also I want to say the director did nice job too!

Hi Scott, I liked your choice of topic as I myself have been a part of it. I could relate to your issues while working and I think you camptured the essentials of an ad production process very well. I liked the lighting all through the 'trailer'. The camera despite being handheld was very stable.Brandon sure has an alternate career as a cam man in Hollywood lined up. I liked the different locations shot in and I'm sure you had fun doing it, I sure did when I did it for my first video. Being a fan of "It's Always Sunny.." I liked the music and the opening. Overall, I think you rocked in this podcast and I have no doubts your final video will be equally good. Great job!

The car shot is interesting, though I'm not sure why you used it. Make sure you identify organizations correctly. College of Mass Comm, Department of Advertising. Around 3:47, you might have come in a bit tighter. Jump cut at 4:53. You've got some interesting shots throughout this, but some of them come across a bit arbitrary. If some of these are clips from the final project, you probably need a title or two to let us know what sections they are from. All that said, the video flows well. I look forward to seeing the final project.

Scott-

So, the intro caught my attention (even though it was the same one you used last time but what can ya do haha just kidding). I really liked the way you shot your podcast, it actually held my interest for more than 15 seconds..I liked the car scene while you were talking and driving, and thought it was funny that it took you like 5 hours to back out of your space..ha just kidding again, this is my last comment of the class so ya.... I thought you did a great job explaining your topic (what is it again?) and nice work on the audio (especially in the car, you can't hear any external car sounds and what not). Overall, well done, and I look forward to your final final podcast!

Damn that Dave for calling in the middle of a shot!!! Nicely done on the podcast. I liked that you presented your information in a number of different locations. You have an excellent camera man. I especially liked the 'Alderson' shot in the car. The Always Sunny style was a nice touch. You should, however, let the song play just a little longer. I also like the eerie music when you entered the office; it added suspense. I think you provided everybody with a good amount of information on what you need to do when you are an account executive. It was a nice little trailer for the final video. You just let me know when we are going to film.
